It is with profound sadness that we remember and celebrate the life of Aspen Jae Brooks, who passed away on May 30, 2026, at the age of 15. Though her time on earth was far too short, Aspen’s vibrant spirit, loving heart, and joyful presence left an unforgettable mark on everyone who knew her.
Born on October 1, 2010, in McAlester, Oklahoma, Aspen was a bright and compassionate young woman who embraced life with enthusiasm and kindness. She had recently completed her freshman year at Epic Charter School and worked at Chick-fil-A in McAlester. A devoted member of Apostolics of McAlester Church, Aspen’s faith played an important role in her life and helped shape the caring person she became.
Aspen was known for her outgoing personality, infectious smile, and ability to make others feel welcomed and loved. She enjoyed expressing herself through hair, makeup, fashion, and her favorite color, pink. Her playful nature and unique sense of humor brought happiness to family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to spend time with her.
Family was at the center of Aspen’s world. She shared a special bond with her siblings, extended family, and countless friends. One of her greatest joys was caring for her foster baby brother, Thomas, and the younger children she affectionately called her babies. Known lovingly as “Lala,” she filled their lives with laughter, affection, and unforgettable memories.
Aspen’s passing leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of her mother, Skye Mayeux; stepfather, Justin; siblings; grandparents; great-grandparents; boyfriend, friends, and many extended family members who cherished her deeply.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to all who are grieving this unimaginable loss. May they find comfort in the beautiful memories Aspen created and strength in the love she shared so freely.
Though gone too soon, Aspen Jae Brooks will be remembered for her radiant smile, compassionate heart, and the joy she brought into the lives of others. Her memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved her.
